KEEPING IT LAVISH, playing in Venice this Friday & Saturday:- INTERNATIONAL: PALAZZINAG VENICE POP UP

Here is what Urban Junkies went & said:-

Nothing says summer more than a regatta. Good job Venice is hosting the America’s Cup Regatta this month then. Apart from the obvious race-watching, this means party time. Phillipe Starck’s PalazzinaG Hotel have a goody: an exclusive three day event which will see DJ Kitt Proudfoot (The Box & The Arts Club, London, Blue Marlin & KM5, Ibiza) provide the soundtrack, Brigitte Armengos (Space, Pacha) head the entertainment, while Luigi Francella takes on the food with an exciting Venetian menu. All against a backdrop of Phillipe Starck’s modern-meets-lavish design and the Grand Canal.

May 11 - 14, packages (including 2 nights and access to all parties) from €1850. San Marco 3247, 30124 Venice, Italy. To book for events call 020 7405 5838 or emailhq@meredithbespoke.com

Music raises the soul. Go deeper, don’t follow the herd. I know friends who’s whole life path has diverted because they were given a Stevie Wonder album at young age. THIS MATTERS. If you are listening to mainstream popular music it is most likely because it is coming at you on Coke bottles, Billboard & on condom wrappers. Go deeper, use it as tool to discover your own individuality because when you’re 92 you won’t remember JLS & say ‘those were the days’. So go deeper, try harder, make the effort…… but then what am I talking about?… You already do! I love you & I love this guy.

I love Pop, I freaking live for Pop! Love it I tell you. But there is a product that floats about on the edge of music that does nothing for your soul. Manufactured to sell you sugary drinks, catchphrase T-shirts & silly hats, it’s on in your car if you let it be, it’s on your TV if you let it be, it’s all around you if you let it be- it caters to basic levels of consciousness & is in every way ‘safe’ (in an immediate sense). It does nothing. Which is dangerous because we need music to do something.

From Bill Withers to Brennan Green via Montell Jordan and The ‘Mac, the residents of Midnight Sun mix the superfly with the put ‘em high on a nightly basis, and these super-cool London kids are the hottest duo of the moment. Daisy LOVES x”

KITT’S BIO

From starting out a a decade ago the Newcastle born, London dwelling DJ & Presenter KITT was into anything deep & electronic, his crowd-pleasing DJ sets naturally progressed onto deep house with a focus on new & old disco. From Marvin Gaye to Marc E, on to Harry Thumann & Agoria, Kitt’s sets have an intuitive sense of flow whilst always retaining a sense of party.

The first time Kitt’s name appeared on a flier ‘twas for a boat party in Cannes for their film festival, this experience immediately set alight a passion for DJing in different environments. Not long after, while still learning the trade & wondering whether he could connect people using the music he loved; the stars aligned. Kitt was warming up his regular crowd at one of his first residencies, London’s 200 capacity Aura club, it was a Thursday night like any other, when Sven Vath turned up, he liked the vibe and decided that he’d like to play. What followed changed Kitt’s whole view of what a DJ could do with underground music.

Kitt’s musical style is as heavily informed by his Balearic summer residencies which have sparked off a love for the sunshine & good times beach & boat party vibe. Spending alternate Summers in Ibiza with sets at Atzaro, Blue Marlin, Nassau, KM5 & a choice 5 hour set warming up for Tensnake to name a few.

Kitt’s easy way & love of music lead him to be scouted by Livemusic.fm to front & host their online channel, Live & Loud. Interviewing bands such as Hurts, Surfer Blood & Titus Adronicus. In the process re-opening the door into great music; not necessarily four-to-the-floor & influencing the playlists weekly live radio show on Shoreditch Radio, Imaginary People. Kitt often presents at events, MCs or runs the vox pops gamete talking utter nonsense to good people, evidence of which can be seen on his showreel. (See ‘showreel’ tab on kittproudfoot.com)

Whether based in London or Ibiza during the glorious summer months Kitt tends to travel non stop. His calendar gets crazy busy of the past three years with festivals, club gigs, private events & all manner of other goings on. With memorable festival appearances at Hard Rock Calling & Wireless in Hyde Park, T in the Park in Scotland and two six-hour sets at The Big Chill. Private parties in Greece, St Tropez, even a 4000 person event for Mayor Bloomberg on Randall’s Island, Manhattan, New York, Kitt loves to get around.

Back in the UK Kitt solidified his residencies with ReviveHer at Dalston Superstore, inMotion in Brighton, The Box, La Bodega Negra, The Arts Club & Midnight Sun, as well notable appearances for ReviveHer at the Secretsundaze New Years Eve party & warm ups for DJ Nature, Motion at the Other Rooms in Newcastle warming up the floor for 2000 and One & a room 2 for Bugged Out! & headlining the launch of GoodLife in Leeds.

With residencies in Brighton, London & Newcastle along with a return to the White Isle to play We Love at Space, two gigs in Venice for the launch of the Americas Cup & a few festivals already planned 2012 is looking spectacular.

“One thing’s for sure, ole’ Kitty is on the up – and not just on the underground house scene - he also harbours a deep desire to be the greatest wedding DJ on the planet (I definitely think it’s got something to do with all those bride’s maids).” www.feelmybicep.com

ReviveHER Bugged Out mix from  DJ KITT,  Nicholasfeel  & BiBop

This mix is a back to back mix recorded by ReviveHER head honcho and former Bugged Out! resident Bi-Bop aka Coops, Silver Magic Airways man / ReviveHER resident Nicholas Feel and Shoreditch Radio and club DJ KITT.

Nicholas Feel joined the ReviveHER ranks having interviewed their specials guests on his Silver Magic radio show. Fine Examples include TBD, Eddie C, Thomas Bullock, Tim Sweeney, James Priestley and Farley Jackmaster Funk! The pair collaborated on a legendary EFES rave back in November and now DJ together. Kitt, within close circles, had DJed with Bicep in the ReviveHER room at secretsundaze NYE 2010/11. The trio are now working as a collective on a new musical project called “Guess Who”, launching in Dalston in June. This promo mix was the perfect opportunity to feel each others biceps and compliment each others styles ahead of their appearance this Friday, with Bicep headlining the ReviveHER room.

Now just 7 days away, ReviveHer at BUGGED OUT! with KITT, @nicholasfeel , BIBOP & @feelmybicep .

Bugged Out returns to XOYO on February 25th. The gallery is hosted by East London’s ReviveHER featuring Bicep (Throne of Blood, Aus Music), Bi Bop, Nicholas Feel and Kitt.

Back DJing at The Box on Thursday 23rd of February….. As some of you may know, I play quite a lot at the ‘Theatre of Varieties’ that is The Box in Soho. I really love the place, not just because of the outrage & atmosphere but because of the extremely passionate characters that work behind the scenes & of course the people that make a scene on a nightly basis. Amazing place, amazing people.

Miles Kane fans - @MilesKaneMusic - Some really lovely Miles Kane fans we met at the KCSU gig.
